Shirley Seeman
I’m a Gambling Investigative Journalist who digs into the less visible side of the industry—controversial cases, alleged fraud, regulatory failures, and systemic problems that affect players and operators alike. My work is driven by a commitment to transparency and accountability in online and land-based gambling.
I investigate delayed or refused payouts, misleading bonus terms, unlicensed operators targeting specific markets, money-laundering red flags, and gaps in player protection. This involves reviewing public records, analyzing player complaints, speaking with sources inside and outside the industry, and cross-checking claims against licensing data and regulatory actions. My goal is to surface facts clearly so readers can make informed decisions and the industry faces necessary scrutiny.
I currently contribute to and collaborate with ComparadorCasino.mx, a Mexican platform that helps players compare online casinos and understand the local landscape. Working with them has sharpened my focus on issues particularly relevant to Mexican players—licensing clarity under SEGOB, payment reliability, and the difference between legitimate operators and those operating in regulatory gray areas.
I believe investigative journalism in gambling is essential: the industry thrives on trust, and that trust depends on sunlight. When problems are exposed honestly, both players and responsible operators benefit. If you’re interested in the investigative side of gambling or want to discuss transparency and accountability in the sector, I’d be glad to connect.
