Shees Park in Sharjah – A Great Place to Visit
Looking to get out of the city and enjoy the fresh air? Head over to Shees Park Sharjah, where you can enjoy the beautiful Sharjah countryside while still being close to the city. It’s a great place to visit if you want to enjoy some of the outdoors but don’t have any transportation of your own – it’s all accessible by bus, so it’s never too far away! This park has several features that make it one of the best parks in Sharjah. Here are just some of them.
Where is Shees Park located?
Shees park is located in Al Hosn, Khor Fakkan. It’s about a 2 hour drive from Dubai and it’s also just 2 hours away from Abu Dhabi.
How do I get there?
Shees park is situated just north of Sharjah's oldest residential area, in Khor Fakkan. To get there, exit at 7th Street on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (E311) and follow signs for Khor Fakkan and Port Rashid. From here it is a 15-minute drive through Khor Fakkan past Al Badiya School until you see Shees Park on your right.
Why should I go there?
Located just outside of Khor Fakkan, Shees Park has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike since it was officially opened by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah on 14 February 2007. The park is 15 kilometers away from Khor Fakkan city centre, set within a 150-acre area on one side of Al Fujairah road.
What should I expect when I get there?
Shees Park is located in Khor Fakkan and is accessible by bus. There are no guidebooks available at Shees Park itself, but you can pick one up from Downtown Dubai or any shop selling souvenirs from Shiekh Zayed Road. Remember that you must have a valid visa to visit UAE and make sure your passport isn’t about to expire before heading out. Some sites require an entrance fee; others don’t charge an entry fee but will offer guided tours for a small price.
When is the best time to go?
Shees park has a large outdoor area and beach, which is great for spending time with friends and family. The best time to visit Shees park is during the cooler months of April, May, September, October and November. On these dates it can get cold enough at night that you might want to bring an extra layer with you. The air temperature can range from 15-20 degrees celsius in winter/fall and rise up to 26-30 degrees celsius on summer/spring days.
Cost of admission and closing hours
There is no fee for entry. The park is open from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, 7 days a week; however, portions of Shees park may be closed due to maintenance or special events during these hours. It’s best to check with park staff if you plan on visiting at night or on weekends. Pets are allowed within designated areas and must be leashed at all times. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times when visiting Shees Park. No alcohol is permitted on site.
