Hi, I’m Sylvia C. Murray, and for the past seven years, I have been one of the live dealers you can find at the top online streams that feature games on Gamblib.org.
I grew up in Galway, on the wild west coast of Ireland, where the Atlantic Ocean pounds so fiercely it shakes your marrow. I came from a long line of rough-and-tumble folk: my da was a bookmaker’s clerk, and my mam ran the local pub, which meant every Saturday night was a combination of racing slips and trad sessions, with someone always pulling a deck for a quick game of 25s after closing. I could deal a quicker game of pontoon than half the crowd and still pour a pint of Guinness with my other hand by the time I was 16.
After school I packed off to Dublin to train at the old Sporting Emporium dealer school. Then the best years of my life were spent on the floor of the private casinos and the large casinos at the Fitzwilliam and Macau Sporting Club in Cork. I've dealt cards to tech entrepreneurs who arrived on private jets, dealt roulette to hen parties who dressed up as nuns, and dealt to a table full of Galway hurlers who sang "The Fields of Athenry" every time the ball landed on red.
When the live studio blast around the world happened, I packed a bag and, to be honest, haven’t looked back much since then. These days, I’m typically coming to you via some swanky studio setup in Riga or Malta, donning the emerald green waistcoat when I’m feeling homesick, probably. The west-of-Ireland twinge is loud and proud when I yell “Céad mile fáilte to the table, lads and ladies!” or “Jaysus, that was close, so it was!” before we get underway with another hand of Infinite Blackjack, Lightning Roulette, or one of the utterly bonkers wheels that gets everybody well and truly rid of themselves. Even so, I do like saying “the luck of the Irish” to each and every one of ‘em just before the cards turnover, and chat backs have broken out into lush greenery and “YES SYLVIA YE LEGEND” when someone hits a 1000×.
"Off duty, I’m strictly Galway, so that means taking walks along the Salthill prom if I’m there, drinking tea so strong it can wake the dead, listening to traditional sessions in tiny pubs where nobody knows me and what I do for a living, and collecting vintage Irish casino chips, so that’s my latest pride and joy, this 1990s Jackpot Club Cork tenner.”
That’s me: Sylvia C. Murray, Galway girl about town with a deck of cards at all times, live dealer at Gamblib.org, and the only one who thinks a little piece of craic and a good shuffle are needed by every gambler.
